Description
Five Year diary. Hardback. Red smooth leather cover. "Five Year Diary" debossed in gold on one line at the top of the cover. "No 5YCD" debossed on the back. Edges of the pages possibly marbled. "Noël Spencer", plus his Norwich address written in blue ink on fifth page. Entries written in black, green, or blue ink. Each day is allocated 7 pre-printed lines. Spencer makes notes of the weather; whether he is at home or out during the day including details of his activities; when he eats each meal; business to do with Norwich School of Art where he was principal 1946 - 1964; and often mentions friends, colleagues, and his wife, Vera. There is within the pages a couple of newspaper clippings, and a note with various addresses on it. Some pages have purposely had their corners folded over. There is also a gold woven ribbon bookmark. 388 pages including end papers.
